Design Criteria

Hotel projects are complex due to the different expectations of the various stakeholders involved. Therefore, clear design criteria must be developed at the beginning of each projects.

Design criteria include:
  • Type of property (e.g. city/convention/business, resort, etc.)
  • Site particularites (e.g. direction of property, sloping, neighbors, street access, etc.)
  • Owner/developer expectations
  • Operator expecatations and operational requirements (if applicable)
  • Guest expectations
  • Staff expectations
  • Sustainable design
  • Exterior and interior landscaping
  • Lighting
  • Graphics and signage
  • Artwork
  • Disabled guest requirements
  • Other criteria as locally required
